So it’s Academy Award season again and this Sunday Jimmy Kimmel will be hosting the Oscars. I personally think this will be one of the best shows of all time…I mean, the man is funny and anything he hosts has got to be awesome! To be honest, I stopped watching awards shows a few years ago, mostly because I would get bored just sitting there for 4-6 hours.
So this year, I decided to create two Oscar Workouts so we can all stay active and fit together while drooling over all those amazing celeb outfits! The first workout is called the Red Carpet Workout and is meant to be completed pre-show, as the celebrities walk (or should I say float gloriously) down the red carpet.
The second workout is meant to be completed during the Oscars award ceremonies. This workout is lower intensity than the first Red Carpet Workout so you can complete it even after you have been munching on some yummy award-worthy snacks. Of course you could always do the workout for the first half of the ceremony and then settle in to eat afterwards.
Both workouts can be downloaded as PDF’s by clicking on images so make sure to print them out before the show starts! If you aren’t familiar with a one of the exercises simply click on the exercise within the PDF and it will link to either a video or an image describing that exercise. Pretty cool, huh?
Also make sure to check out some of the of the nutritious and delicious award-worthy finger foods I will be cooking up. I love that Meal Garden has these cool recipe collections for special events. No need to search through tons of blogs or recipe books when they are all bundled together for you in one place. Anyhow, I plan to serve some of my homemade salsa and fresh guacamole with tortilla chips, along with some spiced maple pecans and cherry tomatoes with creamy pesto cheese.
Now if you are like me you will still need additional entertainment to hold your interest. Other things you can do to make your Oscar party a bit more exciting is to download your very own Oscar ballots and to hold a contest to see who gets the most predictions right. You can also decorate with oscar statues and set up an oscar-worthy photo booth. Of course, no Oscar party is complete without some healthy cocktails to please your crowd. I would love to see some pics of your party!
