My kids love hot chocolate and after a snow-covered weekend like the one we just had, it’s the perfect post-snow-play snack….unfortunately most hot chocolates are ridiculously high in sugar. For example, a medium hot chocolate from Tim Horton’s has a whopping 49 grams of sugar. That’s the equivalent of 11 teaspoons of sugar! Yikes!!!
So, here is a much-healthier version that only contains about half the sugar that you will generally find in a typical hot chocolate. I also like that this version is vegan and has a bit of added protein which will help prevent a huge spike in your blood sugar and that it tastes just a bit more grown-up due to the addition of mint.
